Bob Mattera
Photography has been a lifelong interest for me, though I began pursuing it seriously in 2012 toward the end of a long IT career, when I enrolled in the Certificate in Digital Photography program at the Rhode Island School of Design. I completed the program in 2015 and soon began working professionally — first as a second photographer at weddings and later with my own wedding, portrait, and engagement clients throughout Rhode Island.
Over the years I expanded into videography and began teaching workshops for developing photographers. In 2024 I became President of the Photographic Society of Rhode Island, an organization that has supported amateur photographers in the state for nearly a century.
Photography has taken me to many places, but more importantly it has introduced me to remarkable people — some who became clients and many who became lasting friends.
For me, photography is a lifelong journey of learning, observation, connection, and, best of all, creating.
